2020 Starpoint graduate Kaitlyn Haak shares her journey to her current position at Citi: As the President of the Math Honor Society, Kaitlyn worked to promote the organization. She led community initiatives and assisted in helping her peers. She took many AP and advanced college-level classes which helped her to get into Niagara University with the highest academic scholarship available. “When I chose my degree, I had no idea what I was going to do, I just knew I liked math, and I was good at it. I didn’t know what I could do with a math degree, but everyone just kind of told me that there were many options for people with a math degree. So, I went through college with that in my head.” She focused on mathematics and graduated in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in General Business. Throughout high school and college, she worked at Wegmans as the Coordinator in the Floral Department. All of her experiences helped her determine that she wanted to work for a company that would allow her to grow in the company. Her mentor encouraged her to consider Citi and provided her with a contact at Citi. It was through the contact that she learned about the Citi Analyst Program and it was a perfect fit. She applied and through a lengthy interview process, was awarded one of the 12 positions available at the Getzville location. She has been working at Citi in her first rotation for almost 6 months and says “I can honestly say that I love it”. Citi welcomes people with many different degrees but she is happy she earned a Mathematics degree. It set her apart from the other people who had finance or economics degrees. It made her stand out because it gave her a different perspective and showed her determination to pursue a difficult degree. She indicated that her high school and college experiences allowed her to get into an amazing program at Citi to start her career. She is the youngest in the program at her location and has been selected to plan and coordinate program events with the other classes at her location. Congratulations Kaitlyn! Starpoint applauds all of our graduates for their efforts!

The MS Student Council hosted the Cups of Cocoa Event. This was another event that helped to raise money for the P.U.N.T (Pediatric Cancer Collaborative) organization. Students have been so generous in raising money to help the families of children impacted by cancer. Students enjoyed the time hanging out after-school with their friends, drinking hot chocolate, and eating cookies.

Mrs. Lucci's class had a special mystery reader around the holidays. Lt. Col. Lindsay A. Doak is overseas for a total of 6 months and we surprised her daughter, Claire with her mom being a mystery reader all the way from Saudi Arabia! What an amazing, emotional event

The thoughtful students of the RIS Kindness Club worked very hard to create positive messages for our Starpoint HS students as they prepared to take their Regents exams. These RIS students made bracelets, cards, and stone magnets all with positive words and phases. #OneStarpoint in action!
