Other Important Information

  • The 2024-25 program is limited to children who turn four years old by December 1, 2024.

  • Starpoint cannot guarantee parents will receive their preferred choice of location or time.

  • The program follows the school district calendar, with 180 days of attendance (September – June).

  • Families are responsible for transportation to and from the local agency.

  • The program is grant funded. Starpoint CSD will be using funds allocated by NYS and are dependent on that for the program.  There is no cost to parents.

  • There is limited availability for the program based on grant funding. If more children apply than there are available slots, the district will hold a random selection process in the form of a lottery.

  • If the district receives more applications than spots:

    • A random lottery will be conducted in the spring to determine which students will participate.

    • Each student will be given a number and numbers will be selected at random.

    • Families with multiples (twins, triplets, etc.) will have each child entered as an individual student. The selection of one twin or triplet has no effect on the selection number of other siblings during the lottery process.

    • Families will be informed if they were selected and will need to indicate whether they accept the opening within a certain time frame.

  • You must be a resident of the district by the application deadline to be included in the lottery.

  • Your child must be up-to-date with New York State vaccination requirements.
